2012 · Seville
The extension of the museum designed by Aníbal González for the Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929 is proposed at a complex context made of residual lots and backside of buildings.
It is decided to bury the permanent exhibition floor in order to make a non-interrupted visitor itinerary and minimize the emerging volume.
A stark section is generated for some zenithal openings allow indirect light comes in and zones with different uses are cross connected. A sequence made of compression and expansions produces a similar rhythm which prevails in the preexistence's scheme.
